Tyre Suitability & Use - 1 week course.
Being more informed about OTR tyres, whether it be related to Design, Manufacture Process or Operational Limitations this provides some insight into what potentially can go wrong with a product .
This training module covers what is generally required in Mould Design , Tyre Layout or Construction , Raw Materials used and how this complex process is all put together to produce the finished product . This training focuses on what are the important questions when Purchasing and setting up Test Programs with Tyre Suppliers .
Remember a large portion of development work can be done in-house at the Plant on a Dynamometer Test Rig before releasing product to the field for evaluation . So some problems can be solved in advance .
General Know-How for OTR Tyres.
To get the best out of your OTR Tyres requires some basic understanding of Tyre Engineering . It will assist Users in selecting the right tyre for the operation , knowing what the product limitations are , and then working constructively with Tyre OEM's to improve their product .
The recent OTR Tyre Shortage brought about some real monsters , for the Mining Industry as it resulted in buying into untested product , and then fixing in "Take or Pay" Contracts just to meet their tyre requirements . By having a more measured approach to procurement with some basic OTR Tyre Know-How it is possible to prevent such costly situations arising .
So what have we learnt ..... if we don't continue to work with these Tier 2/3 suppliers now , the industry will be re-visiting these same scenarios again in time to come . The current over supply of OTR tyres to the market is a golden opportunity to bed down alternate suppliers to Tier 1 brands . More competition results in product improvement and better pricing .
Over the last 10 years millions of dollars have been injected into the OTR manufacturing industry . This has included both Plant Expansion Projects and New Factories for Tier 1 suppliers , and then also the explosion of Tier 2 New Generation tyre manufacturing facilities globally .
Using the "Tyre Comparison Report" calculator it will provide some basic or fundamental information about products when drawing comparisons . It highlights dimensional differences , potential tyre max speed capabilities , operational efficiency potentials and cost /hour ratings between brands .
Note this Calculator is used as a General Guide for basic tyre comparisons .
