Reasons for Compound Testing
Laboratory Testing on Rubber can be done for a number of reasons . With Tyre Consulting work it is basically done for three reasons :-
Rubber Reconstruction - basically identifies the components of the rubber compound so one can get an understanding of the ingredient make-up of the Tyre Rubber Components .
Tread Wear Comparison - this testing provides one with a basic Tread Wear and Damage Resistance ( Cut , Chipping and Chunking ) Index ratings on tread rubber compounds .
Tyre Failure Diagnosis - Compounds can fail for a number of reasons as identified in the Compound Problems Section . Laboratories have a number of Test Methods and Pieces of Equipment available to assist in the diagnosis.
